I am a writer expanding into multiple genres, including children’s literature and memoir. I also paint, teach, parent, and have worked as a dancer and choreographer for many decades. My whole life has been fueled by a love for art: especially writing in all its forms, dancing, and visual art.
My published writing has been called “brilliant,” “original,” and “stunning” by colleagues, and my style is considered fresh, lucid, and life-affirming. A review of my most recent book suggests that my re-casting of art as a multi-species activity could “play an enormous role in the shifting consciousness of our time” (see Taney Roniger’s review here in Brooklyn Rail).
I am now transforming many of the inspirations from a lifetime of reading, teaching, and writing about books, art, performance, and culture into fuel for creating literature itself. I’m thrilled to be embarking on new adventures as a writer.
